Victor Wembanyama let out all of his emotions after leading the San Antonio Spurs to a huge victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals on Saturday night.
Going into the game, both teams are even at three games apiece. San Antonio won Games 1, 4 and 6 while Oklahoma City nabbed Games 2, 3 and 5. It’s officially a win or go home scenario for either side, fighting for a spot in the NBA Finals.
This meant that Wembanyama needed to come through with a big performance to give San Antonio a great chance at winning, which he succeeded at doing. In 42 minutes of action, produced a stat line of 22 points, seven rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block. He shot 7-of-15 from the field, including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc, and 5-of-7 from the free-throw line.
After going through the grueling ups and downs of the game, Wembanyama and the Spurs held on until the final buzzer sounded. Once it arrived, the star center immediately broke down in tears and celebrated with his teammates with what they accomplished.

Wembanyama helped San Antonio prevail with its incredible playoff run after winning 62 regular-season games. They took down the Portland Trail Blazers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Thunder to gift the Spurs their first NBA Finals berth since 2014.
Seven players scored in double-digits for San Antonio in the win, including Wembanyama. Julian Champagnie came through with 20 points and six rebounds, Stephon Castle had 16 points and six assists, while De’Aaron Fox put up 15 points and five assists. Meanwhile, Dylan Harper provided 12 points and seven rebounds.
The Spurs will look forward to their journey in the NBA Finals, taking on the New York Knicks in a rematch from the 1999 Finals. Game 1 will take place in San Antonio on June 3 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
