Jalen Brunson Posted His NBA Finals Reaction on LinkedIn. Yes, That LinkedIn.

Jalen Brunson just led the New York Knicks to their first NBA title in 53 years, won Finals MVP, and then did something almost nobody expected: He posted a heartfelt essay about it on LinkedIn.

Not Instagram. Not X (formerly Twitter). LinkedIn — the platform mostly known for career updates, corporate jargon, and people announcing they’re “humbled and grateful” for a new role. But for Brunson, it makes a weird kind of sense. The guy has reportedly been running his own LinkedIn account for a while, so this wasn’t some PR team ghostwriting a generic post.

ClutchPoints Knicks reporter Kris Pursiainen shared Brunson’s full message on X, pointing out that Brunson personally manages the account. And the post hit.

“Winning an NBA Championship with the New York Knicks is everything I ever dreamed of. The fans, the city, this organization… This is why I came to New York,” Brunson wrote.

The Knicks knocked off Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs in five games to clinch the title. But the road wasn’t easy. New York survived multiple tough playoff series before finally getting over the hump. Brunson credited his teammates for holding it together through all of it.

“I’m so proud of this team. No matter the situation, we never stopped believing in each other or lost sight of our goal,” he said.

The 29-year-old guard also used the moment to plug the Second Round Foundation — an organization he started that helps under-resourced kids get opportunities. He said continuing that work is as important to him as the ring.

“It is important to me to support the under-resourced, under-represented, and under-estimated, and to ensure that they have the tools, guidance, and belief they need to achieve their dreams.”

Brunson closed with his signature line: “The Magic is in the Work.” It’s a phrase he’s turned into something close to a personal brand — and it fits a guy who went from a second-round pick to NBA champion and Finals MVP.

The Knicks held a championship parade through Manhattan on Thursday, and Brunson said he can’t wait to celebrate with the city that has embraced him since he signed in 2022. But he also spent part of that parade day writing a LinkedIn post. That’s pretty on-brand for a guy who always seems to be thinking about the next thing, even when he’s on top.
