Arsenal Has Bruno Guimaraes Agreed to a Five-Year Deal While Man United Shifts Transfer Targets

Arsenal is locking in a major addition to the midfield. Bruno Guimaraes has reportedly agreed to personal terms on a five-year contract, according to multiple sources. The Newcastle captain wants the move, and the Gunners are pushing to get it done as preseason gets underway.

The deal isn’t signed yet, but the momentum is real. Guimaraes has been a standout for Newcastle since arriving in 2022, and his ability to control tempo from deep would give Arsenal something they’ve lacked at times. The club also has its eye on Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, though that one will have to wait until after the World Cup. No rush there, apparently.

Meanwhile, Manchester United has pulled out of the race for Atalanta midfielder Ederson. Fitness concerns killed that one. So now United is looking at alternatives: Manu Kone, Carlos Baleba, or Alex Scott. Scott is also drawing interest from Chelsea and Arsenal, so that could get messy.

Chelsea is still working on moves for Pep Chavarria and Maxence Lacroix. Nothing concrete yet, but the club is clearly not done shopping. Tottenham and Liverpool are also in the mix on a few fronts, though nothing is close to closing.

One name that keeps popping up is Bradley Barcola. The Lyon winger would cost around £130 million, which is a lot even by modern standards. Christos Tzolis is another option floating around, but that one feels more like a secondary target.

Michael Carrick is reportedly a fan of Crysencio Summerville. That’s worth watching if Middlesbrough or another club makes a push.

The summer window is moving fast now. Expect more dominoes to fall in the next week or two.
