Trump’s White House Sets Date for Dodgers’ Back-to-Back Title Celebration

The Los Angeles Dodgers are heading back to the White House for the second straight year, and this time the date is locked in.

According to the New York Post, the team will visit President Donald Trump on Thursday, July 23, 2026. That’s a day off for the Dodgers during an East Coast road trip, fitting neatly between series against the Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Mets.

A White House spokesperson confirmed the plan: “President Trump is excited to welcome the Los Angeles Dodgers BACK to the White House to celebrate their World Series championship!”

That “back” part is doing some work. The Dodgers won back-to-back titles in 2024 and 2025, beating the New York Yankees in five games and then grinding out a seven-game series win over the Toronto Blue Jays. They were down 3-2 to Toronto before storming back at home in Games 6 and 7, which actually made it more dramatic than the year before.

The scheduling headache that’s finally over

There was some real doubt about whether this visit would happen. The Dodgers already played their road series against the Washington Nationals back in April 2026, which meant there wasn’t an obvious window for a White House stop. For a while it looked like the calendar might not cooperate.

But the team found a way. Manager Dave Roberts made it clear during the offseason that he wanted to keep the tradition going. He pushed for it, and now it’s happening.

Last year’s visit in April went smoothly enough. Trump praised the team and specifically singled out four-time MVP Shohei Ohtani, who just turned 32. Ohtani’s presence alone makes this a huge event — he’s arguably the most famous baseball player on the planet, and having him at the White House draws a different level of attention.

As of now, the Dodgers are 61-33, sitting in first place in the NL West with the best record in baseball. The Milwaukee Brewers are two games behind at 58-34, so it’s not a runaway, but L.A. looks like they’re in position to make another deep postseason run. Whether they’d be visiting for a third time next year is a question nobody’s ready to answer yet.

The visit is scheduled for a Thursday in late July. That’s summer in D.C., which means it’ll be hot. But the Dodgers have been through worse — like climbing out of that 3-2 hole against Toronto to win Game 7 on the road. That kind of resilience is probably why they’re getting invited back at all.
