Torino Pushes for Lucas Perri Loan but Leeds Holds Firm on Permanent Deal

Leeds United goalkeeper Lucas Perri has not requested a transfer despite Torino’s growing interest in the Brazilian shot-stopper. That’s according to Italian journalist Giacomo Morandin, who reports the player is keeping his head down while his club and the Serie A side haggle over a deal structure.

Perri arrived at Elland Road last summer with the expectation of being Leeds’ No. 1. It didn’t work out that way. He lost the starting job to Karl Darlow after a rough stretch, and now Darlow is gone too — joining Manchester United on a free transfer after contract talks with Leeds fell apart. That leaves Daniel Farke’s squad thin in goal and actively hunting for reinforcements.

Leeds Shopping for a Keeper

The club has been linked with a few names. Zion Suzuki at Parma is reportedly a key target, and Juventus’ Michele Di Gregorio has also come up in conversations. But until Leeds locks someone down, they’re not about to let Perri walk. The logic is pretty straightforward: you don’t sell a keeper if you don’t have another one lined up.

Torino wants Perri on loan with an option to buy next summer. Leeds wants a permanent transfer or nothing. Those are two very different positions, and right now neither side is budging.

Contacts between the clubs reportedly intensified this morning, with Torino pushing for progress. But so far, no formal offer has been submitted. There’s even some suggestion that Torino’s interest might be cooling, which could mean they pivot to other options if Leeds doesn’t bend on the loan idea.

Perri’s Situation

Perri has four years left on his contract. He signed to be the starter and ended up spending a lot of time on the bench. That’s not ideal for any player at 28 years old, especially a goalkeeper. But according to Morandin, he isn’t forcing his way out. He’s open to the move to Italy, but he’s not banging down the door or requesting a transfer.

Leeds is in no rush here. They can afford to wait. The longer this drags, the more pressure shifts to Torino to make a decision — either meet Leeds’ asking price for a permanent deal or walk away. The Brazilian situation could stretch deep into the summer.
