Tottenham is about to test Bournemouth’s resolve with an £85 million bid for striker Eli Junior Kroupi. That’s according to talkSPORT’s Alex Crook, who says the 20-year-old is high on Spurs’ list as they prepare for life after Richarlison.
Kroupi has plenty of suitors. Arsenal is one of them. But the word from Crook is that the player himself is keen on a move to North London. That doesn’t mean this will be easy.
Bournemouth’s stance is firm: Kroupi is not for sale this summer. The club is trying to hold onto both him and Alex Scott. But Tottenham is coming in with serious cash and they’re hoping the Cherries might blink.
Spending Spree at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
This would be another massive check for a club that’s already spent £237 million this window. That includes a £52 million deal for Jan Paul van Hecke, an £85 million move for Mateus Fernandes, and an agreement for Sandro Tonali that could hit £100 million. Yes, they’ve been busy.
And they’re not done. Sources say Spurs could spend up to another £250 million thanks to new spending rules, higher revenues, and cash injections from ownership. The owners have already pumped £100 million into the club for the second time in 10 months. They’re backing manager Roberto De Zerbi in a big way.
Kroupi’s Situation in the Balance
Crock laid it out plainly last night. “Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi has lots of potential suitors. Arsenal one of them, but Tottenham are preparing a potential bid of £85 million, they want to test Bournemouth’s resolve.” He added: “He is not for sale this summer, well that’s the message coming out of Bournemouth – him and Alex Scott will stay. Tottenham want another forward player and they will probably see Richarlison depart – but the message from the South coast is Kroupi is not for sale this summer.”
That’s a pretty clear message. But Tottenham has been known to change minds with the right offer. And with De Zerbi’s track record of developing young attackers, Kroupi might see this as the right move for his career.
Fans on social media are already buzzing about potentially beating Arsenal to a top young talent. That kind of transfer battle always adds extra juice. For now, it’s a waiting game. Bournemouth says no. Tottenham is about to ask again.
