NBA Insider Says Surveillance Video Exists of Alleged Herro-Adebayo Fight

There’s apparently a surveillance tape of whatever happened between Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo at Summer League. And at least one NBA insider really wants the world to see it.

Tim MacMahon went on the record Monday claiming the video exists and joked that the Miami Heat could use it as part of a tribute package when Herro returns to face his old team. The Milwaukee Bucks guard was traded this offseason in the package that landed Giannis Antetokounmpo in South Beach.

“I hope that surveillance video will be seen,” MacMahon said. “Maybe it could be part of the tribute video when Tyler Herro returns.”

What Actually Happened Between Herro and Adebayo

The reported altercation went down on a practice court in a Las Vegas hotel during Summer League. According to multiple reports, the two former teammates exchanged words after Herro made some comments on social media. Then things got physical. Adebayo allegedly hit Herro in the face.

Nobody has confirmed this officially. The Heat, Bucks, and both players have stayed quiet. But the rumor mill has been running nonstop since word leaked out of Vegas.

How This Compares to Draymond and Poole

MacMahon made the obvious comparison to the Draymond Green-Jordan Poole incident that fractured the Golden State Warriors a couple years ago. But there’s one big difference here. Herro was already traded before this fight happened. He’s not suiting up next to Adebayo in training camp. They don’t have to figure out how to share a locker room. The awkwardness is basically Miami’s problem now, and Herro’s gone.

Herro spent seven seasons with the Heat before being shipped out. He made one All-Star team and helped them reach the Finals in 2023. But injuries limited him to 33 games last season and the franchise decided to cash in for a true superstar.

Adebayo is entering his 10th season with Miami. He put up 20.1 points and 10 rebounds a game last year while shooting 44 percent from the floor. He’s the anchor of that team now, especially with Jimmy Butler also gone.

The league hasn’t commented on whether they’re investigating. The video might never surface. But MacMahon clearly thinks it should. And the internet is already doing what it does with any alleged NBA drama — running with it until something definitive shows up.
