“Don’t nobody be cool with people like that on a team, bro,” Teague said. “I’m going to tell y’all the truth, don’t nobody hang with nobody for real, for real. You might have a couple people that hang but people be work homeboys.”

Teague is not the first guy to say this. He won’t be the last. The reality is that a lot of NBA locker rooms are full of professionals who respect each other at work and then go home to their own lives. That doesn’t mean the chemistry is broken. It means they’re adults with families and separate interests.
Tatum and Brown won a title together in 2024. Brown took home Finals MVP. They reached the mountaintop. That kind of success doesn’t happen when two stars genuinely can’t stand each other. It happens when they figure out how to make it work on the floor, whether they’re grabbing dinner afterward or not.
Now Brown is in Philadelphia. The Sixers and Celtics will meet next season, and Brown is guaranteed a warm reception back in Boston. Fans remember what he helped build. The relationship with Tatum might not have been the stuff of buddy movies, but it worked. It won a ring. And according to Teague, that’s way more than most NBA duos ever get.
