Giannis Antetokounmpo’s No. 34 Jerseys Are Getting a Free Upgrade in Miami

The Miami Heat aren’t just giving Giannis Antetokounmpo a new jersey number. They’re giving fans a trade-in deal too.

Monday brought news that the Heat have a plan in place for anyone who already bought a Giannis No. 34 jersey. According to Miami beat writer Ira Winderman, the team will swap those old orders for the new No. 7 — and if you bought one in-store, you can bring it back for the updated version. Straight up. No hassle.

“All Giannis jersey orders and personalized ‘ANTETOKOUNMPO’ #34 jerseys will be fulfilled with the new #7,” the Heat said in a statement. “If fans purchased a Giannis jersey in-store, they’ll be able to exchange it for the new #7.”

The number switch came after an initial report earlier Monday suggested Antetokounmpo would keep No. 34. Instead, he’ll wear No. 7 in Miami. It’s a small detail in a much bigger story — namely, that the two-time MVP is leaving Milwaukee and joining a franchise that’s been waiting for its next superstar chapter.

The collector’s market is already heating up

Those old Bucks No. 34 jerseys? They’re about to become a minor goldmine. Antetokounmpo’s jersey was one of the top five sellers in the NBA as recently as 2023, according to a report from Sports Illustrated’s Matthew Dugandzic. Fans who grabbed one early might be sitting on a piece of memorabilia that just got a lot more interesting. Meanwhile, the Heat are betting the new No. 7 will fly off shelves even faster.

And why wouldn’t it? Pairing Giannis with Bam Adebayo gives Miami arguably the most physically intimidating frontcourt in the league. That duo alone changes the math for the Eastern Conference. The Heat haven’t made real noise in the playoffs since 2025, when the Cavaliers swept them in the first round. That feels like a different era now.

There’s also chatter — just whispers for now — that Miami might try to bring LeBron James back after he hits free agency. The team hasn’t confirmed anything, but the speculation alone has people doing the math on what a Big Three of Giannis, Adebayo and LeBron would look like. That’s a lot of Hall of Fame talent on one roster.

For now, the immediate story is simpler: Giannis is in Miami. The jerseys are getting swapped. And the Heat think they just landed the kind of player who changes everything. If the No. 7 sells more than the old No.34 ever did, nobody in South Beach will be surprised.
