Belgium’s Trossard Just Made Arsenal’s World Cup Assist Record Even Harder to Beat

Arsenal’s grip on World Cup assist records just got tighter. Leandro Trossard became the sixth different Gunners player to set up a goal at this year’s tournament, and the club says that’s more than anyone else has managed.

According to Opta data, no other club has produced more assist providers at the 2026 World Cup than Arsenal. Trossard hit the milestone during Belgium’s win over Senegal in the round of 32. He already had two goals in the group stage, but this time he turned playmaker and just kept adding to the stat sheet.

The full assist list is pretty stacked

Martin Odegaard leads with three assists. Then it’s Viktor Gyokeres and Bukayo Saka, each with two. Gabriel, Declan Rice, and now Trossard have one apiece. That beats Arsenal’s old mark from France 1998, when four different players — Marc Overmars, Emmanuel Petit, Patrick Vieira, and Dennis Bergkamp — managed to create goals at the same tournament.

Fifteen Arsenal players traveled to the World Cup with nine different national teams. That’s the most of any Premier League club. And they’ve been all over the score sheet, not just in the assist column. The Gunners have also matched their record for most different goal scorers at a single finals.

Still time to pad the numbers

With several Arsenal guys still alive in the knockout rounds, this record could get even more lopsided before the final in New Jersey on July 19. Trossard’s assist might not be the last one. And that’s the thing about this squad — they’re producing for their countries in ways that club history books will remember for a long time.
