Manchester United is about to let the cameras in. And this time, it’s costing Amazon a record sum.
The Red Devils have agreed to a deal with Amazon Prime Video for an upcoming season of the All or Nothing documentary series, with filming set to begin during preseason. The series will air in the summer of 2027 and will follow Michael Carrick’s first full season as permanent head coach — a campaign that also marks United’s return to the Champions League for the first time since 2023-24.
According to club sources and industry insiders, Amazon offered United a fee significantly higher than what other Premier League clubs have received for participating in the series. Neither the club nor Amazon has disclosed the exact figure, but the deal is being described internally as a record-breaking one for the franchise.
United becomes the fourth Premier League club to feature in All or Nothing, joining Arsenal, Tottenham, and Manchester City. But unlike some of those past seasons — Arsenal’s 2021-22 campaign ended in a fifth-place collapse, while Tottenham’s 2019-20 season under Jose Mourinho was defined by inconsistency — United is positioning this as a story of resurgence.
The club has billed the documentary as a look at a “transformative summer” and promises “unprecedented access to one of the world’s most prestigious football clubs, taking them inside the Old Trafford dressing room, the inner sanctum of United’s all-new Carrington Training Complex and much more.”
Toby Craig, United’s chief communications officer, said the time was right to open the doors. “Now is the right time to open our doors, so that for the first time our fans around the world can see behind the scenes of a club which means so much to so many people,” Craig said in a statement. “This documentary will showcase Manchester United’s unique people, ambition and culture; from the iconic atmosphere at Old Trafford to the work that goes on behind the scenes every day at Carrington.”
The deal comes after years of internal debate. Amazon first approached United about filming for the current season, but the club decided last summer that full access would be too much of a distraction for the players. Then-manager Ruben Amorim was reportedly not keen on revealing so much behind the scenes, concerned about the impact on squad morale and focus.
Now, with Carrick at the helm and the club preparing for a Champions League return, the calculus has shifted. United believes the timing is right to control the narrative and show fans a side of the club they’ve never seen before — and Amazon is willing to pay a premium for that access.
The series will follow a format that has delivered dramatic moments before. Arsenal’s edition showed Mikel Arteta’s unusual motivational tactics, angry team talks, and even a training ground bust-up. Manchester City’s 2017-18 season, which featured a record 100-point title run, is widely considered the most successful entry in the franchise. United will hope the cameras capture a similar upturn, not the tension that defined Tottenham’s stint.
Filming begins this summer, and the finished product will drop in 2027. For United fans, the wait might feel long — but the promise of an all-access pass to Carrick’s first full season and a Champions League return is enough to keep the buzz alive.
