The Indiana Fever are making June look a whole lot different than May. After a sluggish start to the season, Indiana has now won four straight games, pushing their record to 9-5 following a dominant blowout of the Toronto Tempo on Tuesday night. But the real story wasn’t just the win — it was how Caitlin Clark orchestrated the entire show.
Clark tied her own Fever franchise record with nine assists in the first half alone, according to espnW. By the time the final buzzer sounded, she had racked up 21 points, 14 assists, five rebounds, and a block in 32 minutes of court time. Her passing wizardry was on full display, including a few behind-the-back dimes that left fans and teammates shaking their heads. But she wasn’t perfect — Clark also turned the ball over six times, a reminder that even elite playmaking comes with risk.
Fever head coach Stephanie White didn’t hold back in praising her point guard’s vision and pace after the game.
“She did a great job of finding her teammates,” White told The Athletic’s James Boyd. “Again, her pace, you can tell she’s got her burst back. She does a good job of forcing the action in the ball screen and really creates 2 on 1 opportunities.”
Clark wasn’t the only Fever player stuffing the stat sheet. Aliyah Boston posted a double-double with 18 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocks, anchoring the paint on both ends. Kelsey Mitchell led all scorers with 27 points, hitting 3-of-4 from deep, while Sophie Cunningham continued her hot streak off the bench with 24 points, including six 3-pointers. That performance came on the heels of her dazzling finish against Connecticut, and it’s giving Indiana a dangerous second-unit punch.
What’s notable is how the Fever are building momentum at exactly the right time. After an inconsistent opening stretch, this team is now clicking on all cylinders — and Clark’s aggressive passing is the engine. Still, the six turnovers are something to watch. Clark plays with a high-risk, high-reward style, and against better defensive teams, those miscues could be costly. For now, though, the Fever are rolling.
Up next for Indiana: a home matchup against Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream on June 18 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM ET. If Clark keeps dealing like this, the Dream might be in for a long night.
