Mikal Bridges Says Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner Deserve Knicks Championship Rings — and Why It Makes Sense

New York Knicks forward Mikal Bridges is still riding the high of his first NBA title — and apparently, he’s feeling generous with the hardware.

During an appearance on The Dan Patrick Show, Bridges was asked whether celebrity superfans like Timothée Chalamet, Kylie Jenner, Spike Lee, Ben Stiller, Tracy Morgan, and Fat Joe should get championship rings from Knicks owner James Dolan. Bridges didn’t hesitate.

“I will say yes to everybody,” Bridges said with a laugh. “Everybody. You can name them all.”

Patrick fired back, “You’re really generous with your owner’s money.”

The Celebrity Factor in New York’s Title Run

It’s not just lip service. The Knicks’ run to their first championship in 53 years became a full-blown cultural event in New York. A-list faces packed Madison Square Garden all postseason. Lee and Stiller are franchise staples, but having Chalamet and Jenner courtside brought a new wave of attention to the team.

After the Knicks closed out the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 of the Finals, Chalamet — a lifelong Knicks fan — was drenched in champagne during the locker room celebration. The viral moment showed just how invested he was.

For fans who grew up watching their team fall short year after year, seeing those moments meant something. The title drought is over. And so is the idea that Hollywood stars are just there for the Instagram photos.

Bridges Silences the Doubters

Bridges’ championship run was also personal. After a rocky first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks, critics called for him to be benched. Instead, he steadied himself and became a crucial two-way presence. In the Finals, he averaged 10.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists while defending a deep Spurs wing rotation.

The Knicks traded six draft picks to land Bridges before the season — a massive gamble that some analysts questioned. Now, with a championship and an NBA Cup trophy to show for it, the deal looks like a masterstroke.

Bridges also extended his remarkable ironman streak, having never missed a game in his entire NBA career.

Whether Dolan actually sends rings to Chalamet and Jenner remains an open question. But Bridges made it clear: in his mind, they earned it right along with the rest of the team.
