LeBron James hasn’t made his free agency decision yet. But a familiar name keeps popping up in the conversation around where he lands.
NBA insider Jake Fischer said on a Bleacher Report live stream that he wouldn’t be surprised if Kevin Love ends up as a package deal alongside James this summer. This isn’t just nostalgia. Love and James spent four seasons together in Cleveland. They won a title in 2016. The two were part of that team’s ten-year reunion trip in Europe this summer, and it’s not exactly a secret that they’re still close. When LeBron is deciding where to go, he tends to lean on people he trusts. Love fits that category.
Love has spent the last couple of years with the Utah Jazz. He’s not the 20-and-10 guy he used to be. His role has shrunk, and his minutes have dropped. But at this point in his career, he’s not being signed for his box score. He’s a veteran presence who can stretch the floor and doesn’t need the ball to be effective. And frankly, LeBron has always valued having a trusted voice in the locker room.
