Travis Kelce is keeping the door wide open for an encore. The Kansas City Chiefs star made it clear he’s ready to reprise his surprise role as a backup dancer on Taylor Swift’s next tour if she asks. He shared that during a recent episode of his New Heights podcast, which dropped just hours before he and Swift tied the knot at Madison Square Garden on July 3.
Kelce was reflecting on his time as a backup dancer during Swift’s Eras Tour stop at Wembley Stadium in June 2024. You might remember the moment. He showed up in a tailcoat and top hat for the song “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart” and carried Swift on stage in front of a packed stadium. Prince William, who was in the audience that night, told him to do it again. The future king even joined the podcast to talk about it.
“If Tay’s gonna sign up for a tour, I’ll happily make sure that we bring it back to life,” Kelce said. The NFL tight end called the whole thing “definitely a very proud moment of my life.”
Prince William, not surprisingly, was a fan of the performance. But he also had a different kind of highlight from meeting Kelce and his brother Jason. The prince met the Kelces along with his kids that day, and Travis said it was one of the coolest moments of his life meeting the royal family.
Jason, for his part, admitted he was nervous. “You want to be respectful and know the protocols,” he said. He also revealed that Princess Charlotte stole the show for him. Jason has four daughters of his own — Wyatt, Elliotte, Bennett, and Finn — so he knows a thing or two about kids. The prince gave him props for raising four girls, saying “Congratulations on having four daughters, I don’t know how you do that.” Jason laughed and called it “definitely a difficult task. The hardest job.”
Speaking of kids, Travis and Swift don’t have any children together yet. But Swift dropped a fairly direct hint in her song “Wishlist,” where she sings about wanting to have a couple kids with her now-husband. That track is about as clear as it gets without an official announcement. The couple hasn’t confirmed any plans, but the internet has plenty of theories.
So if Swift decides to head out on another world tour, it sounds like Kelce will be clearing his schedule. And honestly, after that London performance, fans would probably expect nothing less.
