Chelsea Shuts Down Wirtz Reunion Talk as Premier League Clubs Track World Cup Standout Ayase Ueda

We’re back in the rumor mill and there’s plenty to chew on. Chelsea has officially slammed the door on any suggestion they’re lining up a move for Liverpool midfielder Florian Wirtz this summer, despite the obvious connection between Wirtz and new Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso from their Leverkusen days.

The German international had a rough first season at Anfield after a record-breaking transfer, and speculation popped up this week that Chelsea might try to spring him loose. But according to Football.London, there’s absolutely no truth to it. None. So much for that reunion narrative.

Liverpool themselves might not be done shopping. The Reds are reportedly looking at Rayo Vallecano right-back Andrei Ratiu, a Romanian fullback with a release clause sitting around €25 million. That’s considered solid value for a position Liverpool needs to address. Anfield Index reports that Andoni Iraola, who knows Ratiu from his time at Vallecano, is pushing for the move. Makes sense.

Over in Italy, Juventus is planning a full reset of their attack. Dusan Vlahovic is heading out, and Jonathan David and Lois Openda might follow him. That leaves a lot of holes up front. According to Tuttosport, Juve has Manchester City striker Omar Marmoush on their radar, alongside Alexander Sorloth and Randal Kolo Muani. Marmoush hasn’t exactly been a regular for City, but Juve doesn’t seem to care.

Arsenal is getting serious about Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers. The Gunners are expected to open formal talks soon, and the price tag is reportedly around £80 million. Insider Hand of Arsenal says the fee is the main sticking point, but Rogers is reportedly keen on moving to North London. That’s a lot of money for a guy who hasn’t exactly taken the league by storm, but Arsenal’s brass seems to see something there.

Meanwhile, Tottenham captain Cristian Romero has received multiple approaches as he looks to leave the club. Spurs brought in Jan Paul van Hecke and Marcos Senesi this summer, which makes Romero expendable. According to Nicolo Shira, he’s no longer considered untouchable. The Argentine is ready to move on, and it sounds like Spurs are ready to let him.

Finally, Feyenoord striker Ayase Ueda is generating real buzz after a strong World Cup showing. The Japan international has drawn interest from the Premier League and Bundesliga, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that attention is growing. Leeds United, Everton, and Sunderland are all linked with the forward. Could be a solid pickup for a team looking for a goalscorer who’s still got room to grow.
