You Need 100 Wins to Unlock Every Mascot in College Football 27. Here’s a Faster Way.

College Football 27 hides over 120 mascots behind unlock requirements, and if you want to run the field as the Florida Gator or Texas Tech’s Raider Red without buying a premium subscription, you are looking at a long grind. The good news? There is a smarter way to chip away at it than just grinding mindlessly.

The Two Paths to Unlocking Mascots

There are exactly two ways to unlock mascots in Mascot Mashup. The first is the easy one: if you bought the EA Sports MVP+ Membership, you get every mascot instantly. That subscription period is already closed, so latecomers are out of luck on that one. Membership also includes early access to Madden 27 (coming in August) and other bonuses, but for mascot hunters, the main appeal was the immediate unlock.

The second method is the one most players will have to use: win a Play Now game with the team whose mascot you want. Want Sebastian the Ibis from Miami (FL)? Beat someone with the Hurricanes. Want Uga from Georgia? Win as the Bulldogs. Simple on paper, but there are 120-plus mascots total, and you only start with 10 unlocked by default.

Those 10 automatic unlocks are: Duke Dog (James Madison), Big Al (Alabama), Boomer (Oklahoma), Riptide (Tulane), Sebastian the Ibis (Miami), Raider Red (Texas Tech), Hoosier the Bison (Indiana), Uga (Georgia), The Duck (Oregon), and Brutus (Ohio State). Everyone else requires a win.

The Grind, and How to Survive It

Playing that many Play Now games straight sounds miserable, and it would be. But there is a workaround. Set the quarter length to the minimum, crank the difficulty down to rookie, and just score once or twice before running out the clock. That cuts each game to maybe 10 minutes. Still, 100-plus games is a lot.

The smart play is to pace yourself. Knock out one or two mascots a day instead of trying to binge through the whole list in a weekend. That splits the work into something manageable, and it keeps the mode from feeling like a chore. If you do not care about having every single mascot, then honestly, you can ignore most of this. The default 10 cover the most popular schools anyway.

One thing that helps: if you have a friend who also plays, you can trade wins. But that still takes time. EA has not commented on whether they plan to add an easier unlock method later, so for now, this is what we have.
