Jeffers brings stability. This season he’s hitting .288 for the Twins, who hold a 49-52 record. He’s not just a bat, either. He’s been a steady presence behind the plate, the kind of everyday catcher that contenders look for in July. The Yankees have long been linked to catching upgrades, and Jeffers fits the profile.
