Ramir Harris-Dupree saw enough over the weekend. After an official visit to Bloomington on June 12, the three-star cornerback from Greensboro, North Carolina committed to Indiana on Saturday.
Harris-Dupree is a Class of 2027 prospect out of Grimsley High School. 247Sports has him ranked as the No. 98 cornerback in the class and the No. 1,184 player nationally. Rivals also slots him as a three-star. He’s the No. 40 overall recruit in North Carolina according to 247Sports.
The Hoosiers beat out Missouri, Rutgers and Louisville for his commitment. Harris-Dupree also held offers from Virginia Tech, Buffalo, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, Eastern Michigan, Georgia Southern, James Madison, Liberty, Old Dominion, Temple, Tulsa, UConn, Western Michigan, Campbell, Elon, Gardner-Webb and North Carolina A&T. That’s 22 offers total, though he only took three official visits: Indiana, Missouri and Rutgers.
How Indiana landed him
Indiana offered Harris-Dupree on May 20. His commitment came right after that trip to Bloomington last weekend. He’s the 14th verbal commitment in the Hoosiers’ 2027 class, which currently sits at No. 32 nationally. He’s also the second cornerback in the group.
What he brings to the field
Harris-Dupree has been productive across two seasons at Grimsley. As a sophomore he put up 69 tackles and two tackles for loss. That year Grimsley went 16-0 and won the North Carolina High School Athletic Association 4A state championship. As a junior he logged 54 tackles, somewhere between 10 pass breakups or five tackles for loss depending on which recruiting service you check, plus two interceptions and a forced fumble. Grimsley went undefeated again and won the NCHSAA 7A North state title.
Physically he’s listed at either 6-foot-1 and 165 pounds or 6-foot and 160 pounds, depending on the service. He attended an Under Armour All-American camp in May and reportedly ran a 4.53 40-yard dash with a 29.3-inch vertical jump.
