“Well, AB is still in a minutes restriction, so that’s why she’s coming out,” White said after the game, per Chloe Peterson of IndyStar. “And that’s typically around the same time that we’ve taken Caitlin out before. We didn’t (take Clark out then) in Golden State because, quite honestly, we didn’t want Raven (Johnson) in that environment without another ball-handler on the floor, but that’s been our typical substitution pattern.”
Indiana started the game by jumping out to an 8-4 lead, fueled by early offense from Clark and Boston. But White decided to pull Clark, Boston, and Lexie Hull at the 6:30 mark in the first quarter. The Fire immediately went on a 13-2 run and ended the first quarter up 29-15. They never lost control of the game after that.
The Fever will play against both the Dream (5-2) and Liberty (5-4) over the next week.
Indy could face some tough questions if they don’t come out of that stretch with at least one win.
