Jalen Brunson walked into the offseason carrying some serious hardware. Like, a lot of hardware. Seven trophies to be exact. That’s not a typo and it’s not an exaggeration. The Knicks point guard collected seven pieces of silverware during the 2025-26 season, which ended with New York hoisting the Larry O’Brien Trophy for the first time in 53 years.
It started back in December with the NBA Cup. The Knicks made it through the knockout stage, faced Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs in the final, and won. Brunson took home the Cup MVP trophy. Then came All-Star weekend in Los Angeles, where Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Allan Houston, and Rick Brunson won the Shooting Stars competition. That’s three trophies before the playoffs even started.
But the real haul came in the spring. The Knicks rolled through the Eastern Conference playoffs. James Dolan gave a speech that went viral thanks to the Roommates Show podcast, and the team looked locked in from that point forward. They won the Eastern Conference Finals and took home the Bob Cousy Trophy. Brunson was named Eastern Conference Finals MVP, which comes with the Larry Bird Trophy. That’s five.
Then came the NBA Finals. Same opponent as the Cup final, the San Antonio Spurs. The Knicks started slow in multiple games but kept coming back. Game 4 saw them erase a 29-point deficit, with Brunson dropping 36 points in a miracle comeback. Game 5? He went for 45 points, including 15 in the fourth quarter, to seal another comeback and the championship. The Larry O’Brien Trophy went to the Knicks. Brunson got the Bill Russell Trophy as Finals MVP. That’s seven.
The numbers behind the haul
Brunson averaged 26 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 6.8 assists during the regular season, shooting 46.7 percent from the field and 36.9 percent from three. In the playoffs he bumped those numbers to 28.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 1.2 steals, while shooting 46.5 percent from the floor. He led all players in points per game, field goals made, field goals attempted, and two-point field goals attempted during the postseason.
The Knicks hadn’t won a title since 1973. Brunson’s seven-trophy season feels like something you’d see in a sports video game on rookie difficulty. But it happened. He walked away from the 2025-26 season with the NBA Cup, the Cup MVP, the Shooting Stars trophy, the Bob Cousy Trophy, the Larry Bird Trophy, the Larry O’Brien Trophy, and the Bill Russell Trophy.
Seven. That’s a full set of luggage.
