The last time Nick Bosa posted anything on X was November 2022. He complained about NFL field surfaces. That was it. Then Thursday night happened and the 49ers star decided the moment was worth ending a nearly four-year silence.
Bosa quoted a post from The Athletic that broke the news about Ryan Clark getting cut from ESPN. He dropped one thing: the OK hand emoji. That was the whole message. And it was enough.
The timing is no accident. Back in November 2024, Clark went after Bosa on his podcast for wearing a MAGA hat during a Brock Purdy postgame interview. Clark said Bosa’s actions promoted division and should face the same backlash Colin Kaepernick got in 2016. Bosa got fined about $11,000 by the NFL for violating uniform rules that day. He clearly didn’t forget.
Clark’s ESPN Exit Was Brutal
The network let Clark go Monday and it reportedly happened during a live episode of NFL Live. He left between segments and never came back. No farewell. No on-air sendoff. Just gone.
Plenty of people think the way ESPN handled it was cold. But a lot of others are on Bosa’s side here. The reaction split is pretty much what you’d expect for two guys who sit on opposite ends of every political and cultural conversation in sports right now.
Clark has been vocal about social justice issues for years. Bosa has gone the other direction publicly. They were gonna clash eventually. The question is whether this is the end of it.

Bosa is still recovering from injury and getting ready for 49ers training camp. Clark is running his podcast and processing a pretty ugly exit from a network he worked at for nearly a decade.
