Kyren Williams knocked Myles Garrett sideways in 2023. A running back erasing a future Hall of Fame pass rusher on a block. It went viral. It got replayed. And it did not get forgotten.

Now they share a huddle. Garrett was traded to the Rams this offseason and joined the team for training camp this week. Williams admitted he felt nervous walking up to his new teammate. Not because Garrett holds a grudge exactly. But because that hit had its own life online and in memory.

“I was a little bit nervous to go say what’s up to Myles. I didn’t know how he was going to react,” Williams said, via Up & Adams on X. “He comes up to me and goes, ‘Don’t think I forgot about what happened a couple years ago.’ It was just nothing but laughs.”

So they’re good. They’re teammates. And the Rams look terrifying.

The Rams Made the Super Bowl Favorite Move

Los Angeles was already a contender after pushing Seattle to the brink in the NFC Championship Game. They had one of the league’s most complete rosters. But general manager Les Snead kept working. He added cornerback Trent McDuffie. Then he traded for Garrett, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, and turned the defense into something that has pundits sleeping on the Rams as the team to beat.

There’s also talk that Aaron Donald could come back. Nothing official. The team hasn’t confirmed anything. But if Donald does unretire, the defensive line would feature both him and Garrett. That’s not fair. Even without Donald, this front seven is going to wreck game plans.

The Rams open the season September 10 in Australia against the San Francisco 49ers. A divisional game on another continent. That’s a weird way to start a Super Bowl push. But with Garrett in the building and Williams still blocking like he’s got something to prove, weird might work just fine.
