The Bucks finally pulled the trigger. After months of speculation and a season that felt like it was falling apart in real time, Milwaukee sent Giannis Antetokounmpo to Miami. The return was solid for a team starting over: Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel’El Ware, three first-round picks, and the ability to dump Bobby Portis’ contract along with Giannis. Not bad for a front office that knew it had to hit the reset button before things got uglier.
But the trade didn’t solve everything. The Bucks still have a roster that doesn’t fit together, and they’ve got a lot of cap space now. That means more moves are coming. One name already popping up in trade chatter? Myles Turner.
Turner signed with Milwaukee last offseason thinking he’d be chasing a ring next to Giannis. He said as much at the time. But injuries hit. The team never clicked. And Turner himself had a rough year — 11.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 44% shooting from the floor. His three-point shooting was still decent at 38.3% and he averaged 1.6 blocks, but that’s not the kind of production you want from a center making big money on a team that’s suddenly looking at a long rebuild.

Toronto has eyes on Turner
According to league sources, the Raptors are one of the teams showing interest in Turner. It makes sense. Toronto has Jakob Poeltl on a hefty contract and could use a center who spaces the floor better. Turner is one of the more underrated stretch bigs in the league, and he can still protect the rim. For a team like the Raptors that’s trying to stay competitive without bottoming out, he’s exactly the kind of piece you add.
For Milwaukee, the question is what they can get back. The best scenario would be a first-round pick. But even if they can only land a couple of second-rounders, that’s a win for a team that needs to stockpile assets. The cap space they cleared in the Giannis deal means they can take back a contract like Poeltl’s without blinking.
What about Herro?
There’s been talk about flipping Tyler Herro too. And yeah, that’s worth considering. But there’s also a case for holding onto him. Herro hasn’t become the star Miami thought they were getting, but he’s still young and talented. Let him put up numbers for a year on a bad Bucks team, and his trade value might actually go up. It’s not a bad idea to wait.
Turner’s situation is different. He’s older. He’s coming off a down year. And he signed with Milwaukee specifically to compete. Now that the Giannis era is over, there’s no reason for him to stick around. The Bucks know it. Other teams know it. It’s just a matter of when, not if, a deal gets done.
