According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Suns are hoping to lock up Miles Bridges on a long-term extension after acquiring him from the Charlotte Hornets. Bridges is on an expiring $22.83 million contract for the upcoming season. And the Suns reportedly want him to stick around.

This is the same Bridges who became a focal point of offseason debate for reasons that go beyond basketball. His domestic violence history from a few years back never really faded from public memory, and it still colors how a lot of fans and front offices view him. Pair that with what he actually brings on the court and you start to understand why so many Suns fans are struggling with this.
What Bridges Actually Gives You
On paper, Bridges is a capable scorer. He averaged around 20 points a game last season and can create his own shot in ways that a lot of wings can’t. But the downsides are real. He tends to hunt his own offense at the expense of ball movement. He doesn’t defend at a high level. And at 28 years old, he’s not exactly young enough to grow with a rebuilding roster.
