Milan’s Ruben Amorim Eyes Man United Reunion With Mazraoui as Estupinan Exit Looms

AC Milan is ready to move on from Pervis Estupinan after just one season, and Ruben Amorim already knows who he wants next. The answer leads straight back to Manchester United and a player he knows well.

According to Italian reports, Milan has set an €18 million asking price for the Ecuadorian left-back. Aston Villa is interested but so far the offers have come in lower. The Premier League club is reportedly willing to spend between €10 million and €12 million. That gap still needs to close before anything happens.

Estupinan arrived at Milan last summer from Brighton but never really settled. The 2025-26 season was rough for him in Serie A. Now the club is ready to cut ties, and Amorim is looking at a familiar face to fill that spot.

Mazraoui as the replacement

Noussair Mazraoui played 49 games under Amorim at Manchester United. The Moroccan right-back is versatile, can play on the left, and is under contract at Old Trafford until 2028. That contract means Milan won’t get him for nothing, but Amorim is pushing for the reunion anyway.

Sportmediaset reports that Milan has already opened talks with Mazraoui’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta. No formal offer has been made to United yet, but the dialogue is happening. The 28-year-old started for Morocco in the 2026 World Cup quarterfinal against France, so he’s not exactly flying under the radar.

The question is whether United will even want to sell. Mazraoui is still in his prime and has a long contract. Milan would need to offer something meaningful to get the deal done.

What happens next

Aston Villa hasn’t walked away from the Estupinan talks, but they’re not meeting Milan’s price either. The gap is roughly €6 million, which in the current market isn’t huge. But Villa has other options, and they know Milan wants to sell.

Milan’s summer shopping list depends on this domino falling. If Estupinan goes, Mazraoui becomes a priority. If Villa doesn’t budge, Amorim might have to look somewhere else. For now, the Mazraoui connection is the most interesting thing happening in this story.

Milan’s directors have some work to do with United’s front office. But the player side is already in motion.
