Jett Harrison Ends His Recruitment Early and Ohio State Picks Up Another Five-Star Wideout

Ohio State just stacked two massive recruiting wins in two days. Five-star Marcus Fakatou picked the Buckeyes on Wednesday. And now Jett Harrison, the younger brother of former OSU legend Marvin Harrison Jr., has shut down his recruitment and committed to Columbus as part of the 2028 class. He turned down Oregon and Miami to do it.

Harrison announced his decision early Wednesday through Hayes Fawcett of On3 and Rivals. The timing is interesting — he’s still got two full high school seasons ahead of him, and he can’t actually sign a letter of intent until December 2027. But he’s locked in anyway, which means he can focus on his junior and senior campaigns without the noise of visits and calls from coaches.

There’s a family tradition here that’s hard to ignore. Marvin Harrison Sr. is an NFL Hall of Famer who spent his whole career with the Colts. His sons have kept the scarlet and gray close. Marvin Jr. is already a star receiver for the Arizona Cardinals and a Buckeye icon. Now Jett is following the same path.

Rivals ranks him as the No. 1 prospect in Pennsylvania for 2028 and also the top wide receiver nationally in his class. He’s listed as a five-star right out of the gate. But the comparisons aren’t going to his brother. On3 and Rivals see a lot of Justin Jefferson in his game instead.

“Jett Harrison is a wide receiver prospect with a high skill level that reminds us of Justin Jefferson,” the scouting report reads. “Harrison’s size, route-running, outstanding ball skills look similar to what we see from Jefferson.”

The report does note that Jefferson was a late riser in high school while Harrison is already an established name. So the hype is real and early.

This is Ohio State’s second wide receiver commitment in four days. The Buckeyes also landed 6-foot-4 three-star Jordan Donahoo on June 27. Ryan Day and his staff keep stacking talent at a position that’s become a pipeline to the NFL. Harrison is just the latest example.

The Buckeyes have now put together a 2028 class that’s shaping up before most programs even have their 2027 groups locked in. That’s the kind of recruiting momentum that wins national titles.
