Jalen Brunson Got a Signed WWE Belt from Roman Reigns After the Knicks Won the Title

Jalen Brunson has been a WWE fan for years. He says he “acknowledges his Tribal Chief” before every game. So it made sense that Roman Reigns would send him something special after the Knicks won the NBA Finals.

Brunson shared the gift on social media this week. It’s a custom Knicks-themed championship belt, signed by Reigns, with the message: “Congrats Champ! We acknowledge you!!”

The belt is black and blue with the Knicks logo. It’s basically the wrestling version of a championship trophy, and for a guy like Brunson who grew up watching WWE, it probably means more than a lot of the actual hardware he just won.

Reigns also posted on social media after the Knicks closed out the Spurs in five games. He wrote “Acknowledge The Champs!” with a finger-pointing-up emoji. So the respect goes both ways.

Brunson’s Finals MVP Run Was Absolutely Nuts

Here’s what Brunson just did. He averaged 32.6 points per game in the NBA Finals. In Game 5 he dropped 45 points on better than 50 percent shooting. That series-clincher was the kind of performance that turns a good player into a legend in New York.

But the wildest game might have been Game 4. The Knicks were down 29 points at one point. Brunson just kept attacking. He willed them back into it. OG Anunoby tipped in a miss at the buzzer to win it, and that moment basically sealed the series. The Spurs never recovered.

New York’s playoff run had some weird momentum. They took six games to get past the Hawks in the first round. Then they swept the 76ers and the Cavaliers. That was a 13-game win streak that finally snapped in Game 3 of the Finals. But they won the next two anyway.

This was Brunson’s fourth season with the Knicks. He’s made the playoffs every single year. They lost in the Eastern Conference Finals in 2025 to the Pacers. This year they finished it.

He’s already got three All-Star selections and three All-NBA Second Team honors. The Finals MVP trophy just adds to the pile.

Brunson showing off that belt is one of those moments where two fan worlds just collide. The Knicks are champions for the first time since 1973. And their point guard got a WWE belt from the Tribal Chief. That’s about as New York as it gets.
