Freddie Freeman’s 10th All-Star Nod Hits Different When You Know What’s Coming

Freddie Freeman just got voted into his 10th All-Star Game. And yes, that number still means something to him. Maybe more now than ever.

The Dodgers first baseman is 36 years old, in his 17th season, and he’s not taking any of this for granted. He told AM 570 LA that every All-Star nod feels like a gift you can’t predict. “You never know when it could be your first, it could be your last. You just don’t know if it’s the last All-Star Game you’ll ever go to.”

Freeman has been the model of consistency this season. Through 88 games he’s hitting .293 with 15 home runs and 49 RBIs. That’s the kind of production that’s become routine for him. He’s now made six straight All-Star teams, and every year since 2021 he’s finished with at least 21 homers and 83 RBIs.

But here’s the part that cuts a little deeper. Freeman knows the clock is ticking. “I am coming towards the end of my career,” he said. “Hopefully it’s a few more years down the road. It’s just those little moments and memories that we’ll have forever. This game has given me so much. The least I could do is give myself back to the game when it calls for me to do so.”

That’s not just athlete speak. Freeman has earned the right to say it. He’s been a cornerstone for two franchises and has a World Series ring with Atlanta and another one with Los Angeles.

So he’ll soak up the All-Star experience. He’ll bring his family, take photos, maybe sign too many autographs. Then the second half starts and the Dodgers will be chasing another title. They’re in the middle of a World Series window that’s still wide open. Freeman knows that part too. He’s not just playing for the memories. He’s playing for another parade.

The All-Star Game is July 15 in Atlanta. Full circle stuff for a guy who started his career there. Should be a good moment.
