Fenerbahce Sends Officials to Manchester for Rashford Talks After Greenwood Deal

Marcus Rashford’s future at Manchester United just got a new layer of uncertainty. Fenerbahce has emerged as a serious suitor for the England winger, with club officials reportedly en route to Manchester to negotiate a deal.

According to Turkish outlet Fanatik, Fenerbahce’s football director Cihan Kamer and manager Oguz Cetin left Marseille after finalizing a deal for Mason Greenwood and are now headed to England to open talks with United about Rashford. The Turkish club is aiming for a reunion of Greenwood and Rashford, two former Manchester United forwards who both spent last season away from Old Trafford.

Rashford’s Barcelona dream is dead

Rashford spent last season on loan at Barcelona, helping them win La Liga. He expected the deal to become permanent. Barcelona had a £26 million buy option, but they passed on it. Instead, they signed Anthony Gordon from Newcastle and are close to landing Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund. That door is shut.

The 28-year-old is currently with England at the 2026 World Cup, so any personal talks will have to wait. But Fenerbahce is ready to move fast if United agrees to a fee.

United wants to sell. Rashford might want to go.

Manchester United would prefer to move Rashford this summer. He’s been with the club his whole career, but after a loan spell and a changing squad under Michael Carrick, the fit isn’t as obvious as it used to be. TEAMtalk recently reported that Rashford is willing to stay if no move materializes. But he’s also said to be open to leaving after the World Cup.

If Fenerbahce can agree on a fee with United, the next step is convincing Rashford to join a Turkish league project. That’s not a given for a player who just spent a year in Barcelona. But Fenerbahce is making a real push, and Greenwood’s presence could help sell the idea.

What happens next

The Turkish Super Lig transfer window is still open. Fenerbahce has already made several big moves this summer. This would be the biggest one. For now, everyone is waiting on those face-to-face meetings in Manchester. And on Rashford’s World Cup schedule. Nothing is done yet, but the wheels are turning.
