Crysencio Summerville’s World Cup Showing Just Made Him a Lot More Expensive

Crysencio Summerville is having a pretty good summer. The West Ham winger scored for the Netherlands in their World Cup opener, and now the price tag to pry him out of East London just went up. A lot.

West Ham got relegated from the Premier League last season. That stings. But the silver lining is they’re about to sell off some serious talent, and Summerville might be the biggest name on the block. The club initially set his price at around €50 million. That was before the World Cup.

Now? According to Foot Mercato, that number is climbing. And it’s not like interest was lacking before. It’s just getting louder.

Who’s in the race

Arsenal, Aston Villa, Manchester United, and Tottenham are all watching the situation closely. That’s four Premier League clubs who’d be happy to keep Summerville in England. He’s 24, quick, direct, and can play across the front line. That kind of versatility doesn’t go unnoticed.

Paris Saint-Germain are also in the mix. They’ve been linked with him for a while and are looking to add another attacker this summer. But they’re not the only European club that was interested. AC Milan and AS Roma were in the conversation earlier. Both have reportedly backed off after Summerville’s World Cup performance pushed his asking price higher.

The Mateus Fernandes factor

West Ham teammate Mateus Fernandes is also drawing attention. PSG like him too. So do some Premier League sides. The Hammers could lose both players before the window closes, which would basically be a fire sale. But that’s the reality of relegation. The vultures circle, and the price is whatever the market will bear.

Summerville has the kind of game that translates well to a bigger club. He’s not just a fast guy who runs into defenders. He’s got a low center of gravity, shifts direction well, and finishes with either foot. That’s rare. That’s why the bidding isn’t slowing down.

For now, West Ham holds the cards. But every time Summerville steps on the pitch for the Netherlands, the price tag gets a little heavier. If he keeps playing like this, that €50 million number is going to look like a distant memory.
