Arizona Cardinals offensive lineman Isaiah Adams is dealing with some serious legal trouble back in Canada, but he’s still planning to report for training camp this week.
The 26-year-old right guard was charged with four counts related to what Canadian authorities are calling a guns and gangs investigation. According to ESPN’s Josh Weinfuss, Adams faces charges including possession of a weapon by crime, possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without a license, possession of a loaded firearm, and possession of a prohibited device.
Adams turned himself in to the Durham Regional Police east of Toronto on Sunday. His sister, Allyson Mae Adams, is facing the same four charges. Two other individuals were also arrested in connection with the investigation. Police say they found over three kilograms of fentanyl in a vehicle and charged those two with trafficking the drug.
Adams is currently in Arizona getting ready for camp. A source told ESPN he’ll still report Wednesday with the rest of the team. The Cardinals put out a brief statement acknowledging they know about the charges but said they won’t comment further out of respect for the legal process.
A Look at Adams’ Career So Far
A third-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Adams has played 32 games and started 16 of them. He’s expected to battle it out for the starting right guard job this season, competing with 2026 second-round pick Chase Bisontis. Training camp kicks off July 22.
It’s unclear how this legal situation might affect his status with the team down the road. The NFL typically lets the legal process play out before making any discipline decisions. For now, Adams is still on track to be on the field when practices start.
