Arsenal Circles Ezri Konsa as Aston Villa Braces for a Summer Raid

Arsenal is poking around Aston Villa’s back line again. This time it’s Ezri Konsa, the 28-year-old England defender who’s reportedly caught the Gunners’ attention. According to The Telegraph, Arsenal holds what they call ‘tentative interest’ in Konsa, who Villa values at around £60 million. But here’s the thing: Villa doesn’t seem eager to sell him, especially not alongside Morgan Rogers, another player Arsenal has been tracking.

That’s not the only action on the transfer market. Tottenham is apparently ready to keep spending after confirming the signing of midfielder Matheus Fernandes. The Independent reports Spurs are preparing a move for Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi, a 20-year-old who’s become the club’s top attacking target. They’re reportedly willing to drop around £80 million on him. Rafa Leao and Savinho are also on their shortlist, so it’s not a done deal by any stretch.

And then there’s the James Trafford situation. The Independent also says Tottenham has its eyes on the Manchester City goalkeeper. Meanwhile, Spurs are supposedly finalizing a £100 million deal for Sandro Tonali from Newcastle. Tonali spoke to Sky in Italy about the move, and he was pretty open about it. ‘De Zerbi played a huge role in this decision,’ Tonali said. ‘I don’t give him all the credit, but he deserves a lot. It was also a lifestyle and family choice. We had been in Newcastle for three years and last year our lives changed — our son was born, so we decided to completely change our lives.’ He added that they parted with Newcastle on good terms, saying, ‘We had an agreement with Newcastle and we parted on very good terms, we talked about it every day. They wanted the best for me and we wanted to do the best for Newcastle, so once you leave like this, it’s different. We’re all happy and I’m ready for this new adventure.’

Over at Manchester City, they’re not done yet. Spanish newspaper Marca says City is weighing a move for Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga. This comes after they already added Elliot Anderson in a club-record £116 million deal. City’s midfield is getting crowded, but they seem to want more.

Everton has also made a signing, picking up midfielder Hayden Hackney from Middlesbrough. Leeds is back with another offer for Southampton’s Shea Charles, per Sky Sports. And Newcastle has reportedly agreed to a deal for Hoffenheim winger Bazoumana Touré, according to multiple reports.
