Freeman Hips Are Real. Alex Freeman’s Soccer Run Had His Dad’s Packers Teammates Doing Double Takes.

Antonio Freeman took some of his old Green Bay teammates to a soccer game a while back. They were there to watch his son, Alex Freeman, play for the U.S. men’s national team. And about ten minutes in, the nostalgia hit hard.

“Oh s—, I see them Freeman hips. He definitely got your hips,” one former teammate said, according to ESPN. Another watched Alex move across the field and immediately went there: “He looks just like you running the slant.”

For Antonio, a Hall of Fame wide receiver who won a Super Bowl with the Packers in 1996, it wasn’t just a warm fuzzy moment. It made actual sense. He broke down his own old route-running technique — the way he had to shift his weight quick, boom-boom-boom, to cut across the middle on a slant. And then he watched his son do the same thing on the pitch, faking out a defender, shifting weight, and curling a shot on goal.

“I went back to some video and I watched me running the slant, and I was like, ‘He got the hips,’” Antonio said.

So yeah, the hips are real. And they’re working.

The kid’s been balling out in this World Cup

Alex Freeman has been a steady presence for the U.S. so far. The Americans have already beaten Paraguay and Australia, and there’s a real buzz building around this squad. People are starting to wonder if this U.S. team could actually make a deep run, maybe even win the whole thing. That’s not just hype anymore. These guys look legit.

Next up is Turkiye on June 25. If Freeman keeps moving like his old man used to, that game could be another showcase for a family that clearly knows something about elite athletic movement.

Antonio played for the Packers from 1995 to 2001 and then again in 2003. He’s in the Packers Hall of Fame. And now he’s watching his son carry those same instincts into a completely different sport. The football guys see it. The soccer guys are starting to see it too.
