Miles McBride Vows to Sign Every Deuce Jersey at Knicks Title Parade. That’s Thousands of Jerseys.

New York Knicks guard Miles “Deuce” McBride made a promise early Thursday morning that he might seriously regret by lunchtime. He said he’ll sign every Deuce jersey he sees at the Knicks’ championship parade.

McBride posted the pledge on X around 2 a.m., probably running on adrenaline and maybe a little champagne. The parade starts at 10 a.m. in Lower Manhattan. That’s not a ton of recovery time.

Here’s the problem with McBride’s promise. The Knicks haven’t won a title since 1973. The city has been waiting 53 years for this. People are going to show up in record numbers. The city is expecting a crowd that could easily top a million. And a decent chunk of those fans are going to be wearing Deuce jerseys. He averaged 12 points this season, played meaningful minutes in the playoffs and became a fan favorite for his energy and his willingness to guard anyone. So yeah, there will be jerseys.

McBride’s season was a career year by almost every measure. He played 26.3 minutes a night in the regular season and looked like a real rotation piece. In the Eastern Conference Semifinals against Philly, he averaged 10 points and hit big shots. That series changed how people saw him. But the Finals were a different story. Against the Spurs, he averaged just 2.2 points in 13.2 minutes and shot 3-for-17 from three. He basically disappeared. That doesn’t mean the crowd won’t want his signature anyway. New York loves its role players.

Is he actually going to sign every single jersey? Realistically, no. He’d have to stand there for hours, skipping the ceremony, probably blowing past the Alicia Keys performance and the key to the city presentation from Mayor Zohran Mamdani. But you have to respect the energy of the promise. The guy said it at 2 a.m. on parade day. That’s New York bravado.

The Knicks closed out the Spurs in five games. They won the first two in San Antonio, dropped Game 3 at the Garden, then erased a 29-point deficit in Game 4 before finishing the job in Game 5 at home. That comeback in Game 4 might be remembered as the turning point of the whole celebration. The city was ready to explode after that game.

The parade route ends at City Hall around noon. McBride will probably be there with the trophy, not stuck on the curb signing jerseys. But if you see him before the motorcade starts rolling, maybe shoot your shot. He seems like the type who might actually try to keep his word.
