Yan Diomande is the big name floating around, a young Ivorian defender who fits the profile of what Arsenal likes to develop. Christos Tzolis is expected to join up soon on a deal that’s been in the works for a while. And then there’s John Stones, who is a free agent after his contract with Manchester City expired. Yes, that John Stones. Aaron Ramsdale’s future is suddenly in play too, because Arsenal might need to free up funds if they push for a center-back. But nothing is settled there.
Ezri Konsa is also linked with the Emirates. He’s a proven Premier League defender and Chelsea has already had to deal with him in London derbies. Konsa plus Saliba waiting for him maybe works. Maybe not. Arsenal has not confirmed anything, and their fans are, predictably, not thrilled about losing Rogers to a direct rival. That one stings.
