Gabriel Martinelli might be on his way out of Arsenal this summer. And according to Turkish reporter Ekrem Konur, the list of suitors is already five deep.
Manchester United, Newcastle, Bayern Munich, Juventus, and Roma have all been in contact with the Gunners about the Brazilian winger. Konur posted that Martinelli “could leave” the club, which feels like the natural next step after a season where his form just never quite clicked.
Let’s be real for a second. Martinelli scored one Premier League goal in the entire 2025/26 campaign. One. For a player who arrived in 2019 with so much energy and promise, that’s a brutal stat. He did find the net six times in the Champions League and helped Arsenal reach the final, which is something. But consistency has been the issue for years now, and at 25 years old, you start to wonder if this is just who he is.
He’s not a kid anymore. He’s a veteran of seven seasons in north London. And if Arsenal wants to win the league or the Champions League, they need more from that left wing spot than what Martinelli has been giving them lately. The club has been linked with Club Brugge’s Christos Tzolis, which would be a pretty direct swap in terms of position and role.
Why Newcastle and United make sense as destinations
Newcastle lost Anthony Gordon to Barcelona earlier this summer, and they need someone to fill that creative void on the flank. Martinelli isn’t the same player Gordon was last season, but he’s a proven Premier League talent who could thrive with a fresh start and a system built around transition play. Eddie Howe has a track record of getting more out of wingers than most managers.
Manchester United’s interest is a little different. They already have Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko as their first-choice front three. That’s a solid group. But Martinelli can play left, right, or through the middle as a striker. He’d be depth, which United desperately need if they want to compete on multiple fronts. And let’s be honest, if the price is right, why not take a flier on a guy who scored six Champions League goals last season?
Bayern Munich is the wild card here. They love picking up Premier League wingers with something to prove. Juventus and Roma are also in the conversation, though Serie A feels like a step down for a player with Martinelli’s pace and directness. He’d probably tear it up in Italy, but the money won’t be the same.
No official offers have been made yet, at least none that have been reported publicly. But the contacts are happening. And with Arsenal looking to reshuffle their attack, Martinelli’s time at the Emirates could be coming to an end sooner rather than later.
One thing is clear: he still has value on the market. Five clubs wouldn’t be calling if they didn’t see something there.
