Jordan Love’s 2025 Stat That Makes You Rethink Everything About the Packers QB

Jordan Love’s 2025 Stat That Makes You Rethink Everything About the Packers QB

ESPN just dropped its top 10 quarterback rankings for 2025, and Jordan Love didn’t make the cut. That had Mina Kimes confused. Actually, puzzled is the word she used. And when you dig into the numbers, her confusion makes a lot of sense.

Kimes pointed out something on X that Packers fans should probably frame: Love had the fifth-lowest interception rate of any full-time starter last season. Let that sink in for a second. The guy who critics say doesn’t take care of the football? He threw six interceptions on 439 attempts. That’s a rate better than eight of the top 10 quarterbacks on ESPN’s list.

Here’s what Love actually did in 2025: 291 completions on 439 attempts, 66.3 percent. Twenty-three touchdowns. Six picks. That’s not just solid. That’s elite ball security paired with enough aggression to stretch the field.

Kimes didn’t stop at the stats though. She went to the tape and came away impressed.

“What I see on tape (is) an aggressive, talented thrower of the football who can make every throw, all parts of the field,” Kimes said. “He just looks like a top-10 quarterback to me. The kind that lifts up everyone around him.”

The ESPN list that started this whole thing

The top 10, per ESPN’s panel of scouts, coaches and executives, went like this: Josh Allen at No. 1, followed by Patrick Mahomes, Matthew Stafford, Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson. Then Dak Prescott, Justin Herbert, Drake Maye, Jared Goff and Caleb Williams rounded it out.

Love didn’t even land in the honorable mention group with Sam Darnold, Jayden Daniels, Brock Purdy, Baker Mayfield and Jalen Hurts. Bo Nix, Daniel Jones and CJ Stroud got votes too. Love got mentioned as an honorable mention but not a top 10 guy. That feels weird when you look at the numbers.

Kimes put it bluntly: “It’s really hard to find a meaningful quarterback metric where he doesn’t rank top five. Something that was brought up a lot with him as a criticism is taking care of the football. He had a lower interception rate than eight of the top 10 quarterbacks on this list. I don’t think that perception matches reality.”

She’s not the only one who thinks Love is getting slept on. Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons saw Love ranked No. 72 on the NFL’s top 100 list and went straight to X with his take.

“71 players in the NFL aren’t better than Jordan Love!” Parsons said.

That’s a guy who has to chase Love around the field saying he’s underrated. That carries some weight.

The Packers are betting on Love to carry a receiving corps that’s still taking shape. But if last season was any indication, the bet might be a smart one. The interception narrative? It’s basically dead. The tape says he’s aggressive. The stats say he’s careful. That’s a rare combo. And if he stays healthy, 2026 could be the year the national conversation finally catches up.
