Udonis Haslem Fires Back at Draymond Green After Bam Adebayo Punch Story Resurfaces Old Feud

Draymond Green poked the bear. The bear swatted back.

Here’s what started it: news broke that Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo punched Milwaukee Bucks guard Tyler Herro during Summer League in Las Vegas. The report turned the offseason chatter up a notch, and Green saw his opening.

Green brought up Udonis Haslem’s name on his podcast, referencing the 2022 incident when Green punched then-Warriors teammate Jordan Poole. Poole now plays for the Pelicans.

“These are two guys Udonis Haslem raised,” Green said. “If you raised this young guy in the light of what you were saying about me, and now he punches this other young guy that y’all kind of co-raised, are you going to have that same energy?”

Haslem, who spent his entire 20-year career with the Heat and had his No. 40 retired in 2024, did not let that slide.

He went after Green on X with a long response.

“I see some things just don’t change. LOL. You were on s**** s*** four years ago when you swung on Jordan Poole, and you’re on s**** s*** now. I usually don’t engage, but since you went so far left to get my attention here it is!” Haslem wrote.

“If you think your big 32-year-old, three or four rings at the time having a** swinging on a 23-year-old Jordan Poole at the time is the same, then you are even more delusional than I thought.”

Haslem Doesn’t Hold Back on Green’s History

Haslem made it clear he sees a difference between a veteran punching a younger player and what happened with Adebayo and Herro. The context matters to him. Green, at 32, had multiple championships when he threw that punch at Poole, who was 23 and in his third year. Adebayo and Herro are closer in age and status — both are established Heat rotation guys.

“Unless it’s me on Prime talking hoops, I won’t mention you at all. You brought me into this, and I am retired and out the way. I suggest you keep it pushing cause I ain’t giving out no more hall passes, bra!” Haslem added.

Haslem has never been the guy to duck a smoke. During his playing days, he was the Heat’s enforcer and locker room conscience. He held everyone accountable, from rookies to stars. That reputation made his response land harder.

Green and Haslem have history. After Green’s punch in 2022, Haslem publicly criticized him. Now Green tried to flip the script by connecting Adebayo’s situation to his own. It didn’t work the way he probably expected.

Expect Green to respond soon. He rarely lets a shot go unanswered, especially from someone he’s already had beef with. The offseason just got a little louder.
