Leeds Land Harry Wilson on a Free and Have Bigger Plans Before Opening Day

Leeds United kicked off their summer business by snagging Harry Wilson on a four-year deal. The Wales international walked away from Fulham when his contract expired and now joins as a free agent after a solid season: 10 goals and 7 assists in 36 Premier League appearances.

The club didn’t waste time. Most of their window work was expected to come after the World Cup, but Leeds moved fast on Wilson and are trying to do the same for a midfield target — Shea Charles. According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Southampton has already rejected two bids for Charles, the second worth £23 million plus add-ons. Talks are still going.

Wilson gives Leeds some early momentum. He can play wide or as a second striker and should slot straight into the lineup. But the real question is what happens next.

Goalkeeper Needed After Darlow Exit

Karl Darlow is heading to Manchester United, so Leeds needs at least one new goalkeeper. The club has a few names on the list but hasn’t confirmed who they’re targeting yet. Don’t be surprised if a deal comes together closer to the deadline.

A Dream XI for Opening Day

There’s already chatter about what the starting lineup could look like for the season opener at Nottingham Forest — assuming Leeds lands a few more of its targets. It’s a speculative exercise but gives fans a sense of how the squad could shape up.

Wilson is likely in. Charles would fill a hole in midfield if they can get that over the line. The defense might stay mostly the same, but a new keeper changes things at the back.

Leeds has been patient so far, but the next few weeks will tell if they’re serious about pushing up the table. For now, Wilson is in the building, and more moves are coming.
