Four Teams Interested in Terrion Arnold After Lions Release Despite Kidnapping Charges

Terrion Arnold has been without a team for about a week now. The Detroit Lions cut him after he got tied up in a robbery and kidnapping investigation. He turned himself in, posted a $1 million bond, and is allowed to work out for teams while on home confinement. No GPS tracker either, which his lawyers argued would hurt his chances of signing somewhere.

According to his agent Nicole Lynn, four teams have already shown interest. The Texans, Colts, Seahawks and Jets all checked in. Lynn actually testified to that in court. The Texans even brought him in for a workout. She said there’s a “very good likelihood” Arnold signs with a team within the next 45 days.

The charges against him

Prosecutors say Arnold had three men held at gunpoint inside a Tampa apartment back in February. The men were pistol-whipped and beaten. Cash and luxury items were stolen from an Airbnb that Arnold had rented. Those three men claim Arnold set up the whole thing because he thought they stole from him first.

Right now he’s on home confinement but that’s supposed to work around his schedule. He can leave for work appointments and legal stuff. That’s important because any team that signs him needs him available for practice and meetings.

Why teams might take the risk

All four of these teams could use cornerback depth. The Texans especially have been looking for help in the secondary. But signing a guy facing serious felony charges is a gamble. The league could step in with a suspension even if a team is okay with the legal situation. That’s the reality of signing someone with this kind of baggage.

Arnold was a first round pick back in 2024 out of Alabama. The Lions traded up to get him. He had a rough rookie season. PFF graded him among the worst starting corners in the league. Still, he’s young and talented enough that teams are willing to at least look at him.

There’s no timeline on the legal case yet. The next court date hasn’t been set. For now Arnold is just waiting, working out, and hoping one of those four teams pulls the trigger. His agent seems confident it’ll happen soon enough.
