Josh Hart’s Brutal Three-Word Reaction to Mitchell Robinson in a Celtics Jersey

Mitchell Robinson officially became a Boston Celtic this week, and at least one of his former teammates is refusing to pretend it’s fine.

Josh Hart saw a graphic of the Knicks’ longtime center in green and immediately lost it. His response on X was short, direct, and exactly what you’d expect from a guy who spent four seasons fighting alongside Robinson in the paint.

“Yo admin delete this,” Hart posted.

That’s it. That’s the whole reaction. No thoughtful farewell. No carefully worded thank you. Just a guy who does not want to look at his friend in a rival’s uniform.

And honestly, can you blame him?

The Robinson Era Ends with a Twist

Robinson was the longest-tenured Knick before he left. Eight years in New York. He’d been there through the lows, the rebuild, and finally the championship run in 2026 that snapped a 53-year drought. He wasn’t putting up huge numbers in the playoffs — 13.9 minutes per game — but he was the kind of player whose impact doesn’t show up in a box score. He bounced bodies around on the offensive glass. He protected the rim. He brought the kind of physical presence that makes Knicks fans stand up and yell.

The front office, led by Leon Rose, kept most of that title-winning roster together. But staying out of the second apron cost them Robinson. That was the trade-off. The team chose financial flexibility over keeping a fan favorite, and now he’s in Boston on a three-year, $47.4 million deal.

Why It Hurts More Than It Should

The Celtics have been the Knicks’ biggest roadblock in the East over the last two years. New York got past them both times, but it wasn’t easy. Now Boston adds a guy who knows the Knicks’ system from the inside, who knows how to get under their skin, and who will absolutely bring that same physical edge to the other side of the rivalry.

The Jaylen Brown trade takes some of the sting out of it for New York fans. Boston isn’t as scary as they were a year ago. But it still stings watching a guy you loved suit up for the enemy.

Fans online have been roasting the situation from every angle. One user posted: “Beefing with his own fans and hasn’t played a game yet.” Which about sums up how strange this all feels.

When the Knicks and Celtics meet next season, expect a warm reception for Robinson at Madison Square Garden. Expect a video tribute. Expect applause.

And expect Josh Hart to be somewhere on the bench, looking like he just ate something bad.
