Manchester United Is Ready to Test Dortmund With a €60 Million Bid for Felix Nmecha

Manchester United has its eyes on Felix Nmecha, and sources suggest the club is preparing to put real money on the table. Not just talk. A bid in the range of €60 million is reportedly being lined up for the Borussia Dortmund and Germany midfielder.

Nmecha is 25, he came up through Manchester City’s academy before moving to the Bundesliga, and he just played well enough at the World Cup to remind everyone what he can do. Germany got bounced early, but Nmecha was one of their more consistent pieces in the middle of the park. Strong on the ball, comfortable under pressure, and he’s got the frame to hold off Premier League midfielders.

According to United in Focus, the club is now moving past the scouting phase and into something more concrete. A source told them preparations for a legitimate offer are underway at Old Trafford. The number floating around is €60 million, though Dortmund isn’t exactly eager to shop one of their key guys.

What Nmecha Brings That United Needs

United’s midfield has been missing some physicality. They’ve got technicians, but they’ve also gotten bullied in stretches. Nmecha gives you a bit of both. He can sit in front of the back four, break up plays, and then turn and hit a pass that opens up the field. He did a bit of everything for Germany at the World Cup and he’s been doing it in the Bundesliga too.

There’s also the unfinished business angle. Nmecha left England as a kid basically. He never really got a shot at City. There’s probably something in him that wants to come back and show what he can do in the Premier League. That kind of motivation matters.

Dortmund Won’t Make This Easy

Here’s the thing though — Dortmund doesn’t have to sell. Nmecha is under contract, he’s important to their system, and they just watched the market inflate even further after this World Cup. It wouldn’t be surprising if they hold out for more than €60 million. Maybe significantly more.

United knows this. They’ve been burned before thinking they could get a deal done fast. This one might take a while. But the fact that they’re already working on the paperwork suggests they’re serious.

No confirmation from either club yet. Just reports. But when a number like €60 million starts floating around in July, something is usually cooking.
