Sophie Cunningham’s signature pointing meme has officially jumped from the WNBA hardwood to the WWE ring. And the internet has plenty to say about it.
During the July 3 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton — teaming up with Charlotte Flair — took on Jade Cargill, B-Fab, and Michin. They lost the match, but they won the internet by recreating Cunningham’s now-viral gesture mid-match.
Green posted the clip on social media with a simple caption: “When WWE meets WNBA,” tagging Cunningham.

She followed it up with another post, this time responding to a video of fans posing with Cunningham by doing the same pointed finger. Green wrote, “Me posing with fans after tonight.”
The original meme comes from the Fever’s June 22 game against the Phoenix Mercury. Cunningham and DeWanna Bonner got into a little scuffle, and as both teams separated them, Cunningham slyly pointed at Bonner with a grin on her face. The moment went viral fast, and fans started recreating the pose everywhere.
Not everyone was a fan of the crossover
Some WWE fans weren’t thrilled about the tribute. One person replied to Green’s post, thanking Charlotte Flair for sitting it out: “Thank you Charlotte for not joining in on this bulls**t.”
Another chimed in, writing, “Respect to Charlotte, she’s always been a real 1 she know that shii corny asf.”
So yeah, not everybody was here for the bit. But Green and Stratton clearly didn’t care. They leaned in, and the moment got people talking.
Cunningham, meanwhile, is in her second season with the Fever after being traded by the Mercury in 2025. She’s played 19 games this season, starting three, and averages 9.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in just under 23 minutes per game. The Fever currently sit at 12-8, good for second in the Eastern Conference.
The meme has taken on a life of its own, and now it’s crossed over into wrestling. Whether you thought the parody was funny or forced, it’s hard to argue that it didn’t land. Green and Stratton got the attention they wanted, and Cunningham’s moment got a second life on a whole new stage.
