Dansby Swanson’s 11-RBI Doubleheader Has the Hall of Fame Asking for the Scorecard

The Chicago Cubs are red hot, and Dansby Swanson is a big reason why. The shortstop put together a doubleheader against the New York Mets last week that was so good, baseball’s Hall of Fame wants a piece of it as a keepsake.

According to ESPN’s Jesse Rogers, the Hall of Fame has officially requested the scorecard from Swanson’s two-game performance against the Mets. He drove in 11 runs across those two games. That’s not a typo. Eleven. And over his last 10 games, Swanson has 26 RBIs, which is absurd even by video game standards.

One Game Stood Out

In one of those games, Swanson went deep twice, including a grand slam. But the whole doubleheader was something else. He was locked in from the first pitch of the first game to the final out of the second. The Cubs swept the twin bill and kept rolling after that.

Wednesday’s 23-3 demolition of the San Diego Padres was another highlight. Swanson launched three home runs and drove in eight runs in that blowout win. So yeah, the guy is on a heater.

Cubs Are Rolling Again

Chicago has won five straight games after a rough stretch that had fans nervous. They’re now 49-38 on the season, sitting 5.5 games behind the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central. The vibe around the team has shifted. Swanson’s production has been a big part of that turnaround.

It’s not every day the Hall of Fame asks for a scorecard from a regular season doubleheader. But when a player puts up 11 RBIs in one day, they make an exception. Swanson is getting hot at the right time for a Cubs team that looks like it could make some noise in the second half.

The Cubs are back on the field Friday against the St. Louis Cardinals. Swanson will likely be in the lineup, and opposing pitchers might want to warm up early.
