Harry Kane isn’t going anywhere. The England captain has turned down Barcelona’s inquiry and is all but locked into a new contract with Bayern Munich, according to The Athletic.
The La Liga giants reached out to Kane’s people to see if there was any chance he’d consider a move to Camp Nou this summer. The answer came back fast and clear: Kane is happy in Munich. He has no interest in leaving.
Barcelona looked at Kane as a shock option to lead their line. Kane’s camp told them to look elsewhere.
Kane’s current deal runs through 2027. But talks about an extension have been moving along for months now and Bayern feels confident the 32-year-old is going to sign fresh terms. He’s been a monster for them. Why would he leave?
146 goals in three seasons
Since Bayern paid Tottenham £86.4 million for him back in 2023, Kane has scored 146 goals. In three seasons. That’s not a typo. He’s seventh on the club’s all-time scoring list already and has helped them win two Bundesliga titles.
His 2025/26 campaign was absurd. 61 goals and seven assists in 51 appearances across every competition. That’s the kind of season that makes you wonder if he’s actually human.
Kane had a release clause he could have triggered this summer but that would have meant telling Bayern back in January. He didn’t do that. His camp made it clear that any serious talk about his future would wait until after the 2026 World Cup anyway.
But all signs point to him staying. That Barcelona conversation was a door that never really opened.
Full focus on England now
Kane is currently leading England through the World Cup under Thomas Tuchel. He’s already scored 11 goals in the tournament after putting two in against Croatia and Panama. The Three Lions just beat DR Congo in the round of 32 and Kane captained the side like he always does.
The man has been scoring for fun in Germany and he’s carrying that form into the national team. He’s 32. He’s still chasing Robert Lewandowski’s all-time Bayern records and he’s probably got enough years left to get close.
Barcelona will have to find their striker somewhere else.
