Blake McCall, a self-proclaimed San Francisco fan, tracked down the Rams head coach at a restaurant or club (the exact spot isn’t super clear from the Instagram post, but it looks expensive) and decided to pull a move that’s equal parts trolling and classy. McCall bought McVay a bottle of champagne and had it delivered to his table by bottle-service girls. But here’s the twist: they were holding a sign with the 49ers logo on it.

The video, originally posted to Instagram on June 21st and picked up by the New York Post, shows McCall’s caption: “Bought a bottle of champagne for @rams Head Coach @seanmcvayofficial to show my love for @49ers 😂.” So yeah, it was a flex, but a friendly one.

McVay handled it like a pro

Credit where it’s due: McVay didn’t get annoyed or brush it off. He got up from his table, walked over, and shook McCall’s hand. He was smiling and laughing the whole time. The guy’s got a sense of humor, even when his team’s biggest rival crashes his vacation.

Look, the Rams and 49ers hate each other. They’ve played over 150 times since 1950, and the NFC West rivalry is as nasty as any in football. But offseason is offseason.
