George Kittle is not great at following instructions. Especially when the instructions come from Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.
The San Francisco 49ers tight end spilled some details this week about what the couple has told their inner circle ahead of their rumored July 3 wedding in New York City. Speaking at Tight End University — the annual summit Kittle co-founded with Kelce and Greg Olsen — Kittle told Extra that Swift and Kelce have requested “absolutely no gifts” from their wedding guests.
Kittle is not planning to comply.
“Travis, for some reason, likes old coins, so I might get him an old coin. Sounds expensive, too,” he said with a grin.
Old coins. Not a kitchen appliance. Not a cash fund. Not a personalized jersey from his own brand. Old, presumably ancient, probably shiny coins. That’s the Kelce wish list apparently.
What Kittle Wants for the Couple
When asked if he had any actual advice or wishes for Swift and Kelce before the wedding, Kittle kept it simple: “Just have so much fun with all of your friends.”
No grand life advice. No clichés about marriage. Just go have fun. Which, given the guest list that likely includes half the NFL and a significant chunk of the music industry, sounds like a solid plan.

Will Kittle Actually Be at the Wedding?
All signs point to yes. Kittle and Kelce have built a real friendship through Tight End University. They’re not just conference co-hosts who see each other once a year. They text. They hang out. They give each other old coins apparently. If there’s a wedding invite list that includes football people, Kittle is probably near the top.
Swift made a surprise appearance at this year’s Tight End University event on Tuesday, performing “Shake It Off” with Lainey Wilson. She was also flashing her engagement ring during the performance, which only fueled more wedding speculation. The rumored date is July 3, right before Independence Day in New York City.
The Backstory
The engagement was announced just before the 2025 NFL season after roughly two years of dating. Kelce then spent the 2025 campaign contemplating retirement after a disappointing year with the Kansas City Chiefs. He ultimately re-signed for at least one more season, hoping to chase another Super Bowl before calling it quits.
So between the wedding, the comeback season, and now the looming threat of Kittle showing up with a bag of antique currency, Kelce has a lot going on. Hopefully his coin collection has room for one more.
