Paris Saint-Germain is ready to make a real push for Crysencio Summerville. And that could be bad news for Manchester United, who already have their hands full trying to sort out the midfield.
Summerville is all but gone from West Ham after the Hammers dropped to the Championship. The Dutch winger put up five goals and four assists in 31 Premier League games last season. Not eye-popping numbers, but context matters — that West Ham team was a mess. And then he went to the World Cup and scored twice for the Netherlands, including a gorgeous finish against Sweden that had scouts taking notes.
So yeah, the price tag went up. West Ham wants around $63 million for him. United sees that as a real problem.
PSG Is Moving Faster Than Anyone
According to reports from CaughtOffside, PSG has already made contact with West Ham and is preparing an opening bid around $54 million. That’s not crazy far off the asking price. And here’s where it gets interesting for United fans — PSG is also considering a massive $164 million package that would bring both Summerville and United target Mateus Fernandes to Paris.
That would be a double whammy for United, who have been linked with both players this window.
Arsenal has been sniffing around Summerville too, and two Italian clubs — Napoli and AC Milan — are reportedly monitoring the situation. Roma is also lurking, but only if West Ham drops the price to something between $38-50 million.
The competition is getting crowded. But PSG seems to be the one actually putting money on the table.
Why United Needs a Winger
Michael Carrick is looking at a real shortage on the left side. Marcus Rashford is expected to leave permanently this summer. Jadon Sancho is already gone. That’s two starting-caliber wingers out the door, and United hasn’t exactly locked down replacements yet.
United has made formal inquiries about Summerville, but the club has been dragging its feet on the price. Meanwhile, PSG is showing up with bids. That’s not a great look if you’re a United fan hoping for some attacking reinforcements before the season starts.
Summerville’s contract runs through 2029, so West Ham isn’t in a rush. They can wait for the right offer. And with the way this summer is shaping up, they might just get it from Paris.
