Fulham Draws Chelsea on Opening Night, Closes at Man United in 2026-27

Fulham’s 2026-27 Premier League schedule has a little bit of everything. A west London derby to start, a trip to Old Trafford to finish, and a bunch of spicy dates in between.

The Cottagers open at home against Chelsea on Monday night of the first matchweek. Then they wrap the season on May 30 at Manchester United. It’s a slate that could shape how fans judge this transitional season before it even really gets going.

New manager, new era

The club went through a serious shakeup this summer. Marco Silva left for Benfica after Fulham missed European qualification by a single point. The coaching job is still open. The Athletic reported on June 10 that the club held talks with Alvaro Arbeloa, who took over at Real Madrid in the second half of last season after Xabi Alonso got fired. Nothing has been confirmed yet, and the silence is starting to get loud.

Whoever takes over will walk into a schedule that doesn’t cut any corners.

Key dates circled in red

Brentford comes to Craven Cottage on the weekend of December 12-13. The return leg lands in the final weekend of April, which could carry real weight if both teams are fighting for something. The festive run starts with Brighton on Boxing Day, then Arsenal rolls in on December 30. Tottenham visits on January 6. That’s three matches in 12 days against teams that all think they’re better than Fulham. We’ll see.

The transfer window opened June 15 and closes September 1 at 11 p.m. BST. The winter window runs January 1 through February 1 at 11 p.m. GMT. Fulham’s new manager — whoever that ends up being — will have to work fast if they want to reshape the squad before the season starts.

The bigger picture

The Community Shield kicks off the English season on August 16, matching league champions Arsenal against FA Cup winners Manchester City. The Carabao Cup second round includes the 11 Premier League clubs not in Europe. The nine European qualifiers join in round three, both rounds scheduled for August.

The entire Premier League season wraps on Sunday, May 30, 2027. For Fulham, that final whistle at Old Trafford will either feel like the end of something painful or the start of something real. Depends on everything that happens between now and then.
